Comments
Comments: Ascended Moriah via the very well traveled Carter-Moriah Trail. Started off bare booting but switched to snowshoes as tread softened. Trail beyond Moriah was completely unbroken since last storms.

Since the climb was so easy, we decided to go ahead and break out the trail to Stony Brook. Fun!! Note that if we didn’t have snowshoes, we’d still be up there floundering around. It helps to know this trail well since there are some funky 90-degree turns that occur somewhat unexpectedly.

Fancypants and I had made it almost halfway to SBT when we met three familiar faces. Having had almost enough fun breaking trail, we were all happy to see one another. Unfortunately, SBT had been bare booted, so a lovely and smooth snowshoe track was not to be had. :( Breaking trail was actually more enjoyable than negotiating the boot holes, so at times we snowshoed off to the side just for fun.

The shortcut to the SB neighborhood access was untraveled (YAY), so we got to break some more trail.

Stony Brook Trail and C-M Trail on the ridge are still SOFT. Snowshoes will make your life and the lives around you much more pleasant. :)
