It is definitely true that if Sandwich mountain were a 4K it would be one of the most popular hikes in the Whites.
Bluebird day. Snowshoes door to door but one I could imagine Micros would suffice to Noon and Jennings. Past the junction with Smarts Brook was not broken out and even with my double passing I wouldn't recommend summiting without snowshoes tomorrow. Some ice on the steeps up to Noon but nothing requiring crampons. I don't have any intel on Drakes Brook Trail but it looked broken out at least from near Jennings. I can't comment on the water crossing.
Obviously conditions will be changing rapidly but if someone is looking for a great hike tomorrow I highly recommend! |
