| Lost and Found: |
Found a trekking pole snow basket - put at trail head sign on Bangor St. There is a gray sock and another different brand snow basket there as well. |

Was below freezing at the start of the hike and the trail was previously packed with snowshoes,,, spikes were fine while it was below freezing and the monorail held firm. Around summit time, temps had warmed up above freezing at lower elevation, the trail became slushy, and the monorail became unstable - we snowshoed all the way down from the summit. Barebooters and spikers who descended before us mucked up the monorail - so if it re-froze overnight,, it would be lumpy and post-holey afterwards. |
