| Comments: |
Valley Way to Valley Way Tentsite was decent stable monorail under about 3 inches of fresh snow. Above the tentsite conditions changed dramatically. Large snow drifts obscured tons of postholes and an unstable monorail. Drifts over 1.5 feet coupled with deep postholes meant drops to upper hips in places. Area around Madison Hut was a massive sheet of blue ice. Above the hut, summit cone was mainly blown off but still had snow and ice between rocks. Highly recommend, five stars, would do again ;-). |
