Started in spikes but quickly switched to snowshoes because it was too soft. Seems like most wore spikes of some kind throughout Valley Way, which made for choppy, lumpy and sometimes annoying conditions. Once on Gulfside, switched to spikes because of too much bare rock (mixed with some ice and hard packed snow). Switched back to snowshoes to descend and decided to keep them to the parking lot. (I did meet 2 other wearing snowshoes and thanked them!)
Totally fab day; light winds and great views. |
