Yay, the gravel entrance to the parking lot was clear of snow and the 1-2 inches of slushy stuff remaining on the lot was easily navigated by a non 4-wheel drive vehicle. |

We started in snowshoes since the trail had 4-6 inches of snow to start but switched to spikes after about 0.5 mi when large patches of bare ground appeared. By the 1.5 mi or so mark the snow had increased to about 8-10 inches so that I kinda wished I’d left the snowshoes -on but it was more than doable. Will probably have snow for a least a few weeks more - still plenty at elevation.
Clouded up at but when we summitted but still a great day with always superb views. |
