||Bretton Woods' West Mountain, aka Mt. Oscar was closed for the season. Going up the ungroomed snow was smooth but some places it was glazed over icy...not so wonderful for skinning. But skins gripped mostly well. Good fun and as we went up it started to freezing rain on us. We decided not to continue to Rosebrook because weather was coming in fast. Nice views from the summit ledges down the Zealand Valley. |
Good fun. Avalon was groomed and we appreciated the finer snow surface. A nice afternoon quick dash to a fine peak.
