| Comments: |
The bottom of the Mount Shaw trail remains annoying - follow the obvious logging road up out of the parking lot until you see flagging. Bear to the left here and intermittent red blazes will appear. Follow those until you're on a trail.
Snow starts above the river crossing at around 1600', but it's not deep and it's disappearing fast. Snow is deeper up on the carriage roads, but is also melting fast. What was crusty and icy in the morning was slushy (or gone) in the afternoon. Microspikes are more than sufficient. Leave the snowshoes at home. I didn't see anyone all the way up, during the 90 minutes I was on the summit, or on the way down. |
