| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water levels started fine by end of the day it had risen an inch or two from runoff melt. Pasable but boots will get wet... even rock hopping. Snow bridges were failing so lots of jumping over running tributaries. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Poor blazes, quite a few blow downs up on the switchbacks. Whoever broke trail I think might have broke the wrong way a bit... we saw NO signs except at trailhead and at top with fire tower. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw no dogs and wouldn’t recommend bringing your pup on this trail currently. |
|
| Bugs: |
Snow fleas later in the day. |

| Comments: |
This was a treacherous 16 mike journey.. up on the switchbacks conditions were dangerous. We needed crampons for sure but our poles and micro spikes and carful slow moving footing got us there. The trails were unstable and wet and slushy and sticky. Up on the switchbacks the trail was almost 70* angled and easy to lose footing. Not a great place to fall.
NOTE: pretty sure there’s a bear den near the trail head, there were tracks in the morning and quadruple the amount fresh by nightfall.... cub tracks too. A moose and multiple lynx all from dusk. Please consider another trail or bringing bear spray and a bear bell and full on crampons. |
