| Water Crossing Notes: |
Lots! Spring in the mountains!! Most are easily passable. Only one big one. Rock hopping gets you across though you may have to venture down/up stream to find a good spot |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some blow downs but nothing major. Easy to pass |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
I would say not ideal. I have a 3 year old lab that lives for hiking and we struggled in the steeps to keep him descending safely. We agreed it was a risky decision to push onward as we were coming down and he was struggling to find stability. He’s been asleep since with all that hard work :) |

Two words: mashed potatoes and bananas! Trail is mashed potatoes and the steeps are bananas!!! Bailed after East Peak because it was exhausting to get there. Ground is crazy soft and both spikes and snowshoes were not giving enough traction. Snowshoes were like skis and spikes just gave way to the soft ground. Surprisingly post holes were not horrible, though we were on trail early.
Dense fog the whole way but appeared to clear off once we were back to the car.
Overall, if you’re looking for a kick ass workout this one is it right now. I’d suggest leaving the pup at home and safely take your time!! |
