Comments
Comments: Rainy, misty day on the trails doing some spring clean up. Headed out from the respective Alton Mountain trail head, the corridor was muddy in some spots. Reaching the flat to find that the beavers have been back at work and the last few days of rain have flooded the road once again. With careful choice in stepping I managed to skirt the left side of the road, Gortex shoes helped in a couple spots.

Once around that mess the undervalued Goat Pasture Hill was in healthy shape with it's usual good character. Views from below the summit were still beautiful, looking through the rain at Anna and Straightback. Big thanks again to Ron from the Scout camp for cutting the massive blowdowns from the October storm, made for minimal clean up. Trail is in great shape top to bottom.

Heading back down and crossing over to the Anna-Goat trail, the lower brook area was an easy rock hop, along with some of the overflow areas being easy steps. Water bars are cleaned up, and working efficiently. The integrated water bar built over a year and a half ago was functioning fantastically. Carbonneau Caves were wet and a bit slick so take care exploring there. Cut a blowdown hanging half in the trail just above the river. Some standing water in a couple areas prior to the summit but it seems like there aren't many outlets for the water right now either.

Overall Mt. Anna and Goat are up and ready for hikers to get out and explore!
