Comments
Comments: Bare ground/snow cover off and on, after crossing the first bridge. I bare-booted to the junction of Snapper/Gorge Brook then used hillsounds. The monorail was thin but stable so I stayed in spikes without any issue. Patches of snow up high, but mostly bare ground and running water above treeline. After lounging with a friend for over an hour at the summit enjoying the views, we started down and I used snowshoes to avoid the energy-sucking sinking in the soft snow. Still lots of snow up high! Saw some happy postholers enjoying the struggle. Spoke with a hiker that came up Glencliff and he said he stepped off the trail and ended up in chest deep snow. What a Stunning day it was today snowshoeing in t-shirts.
