As mentioned Edmands Path is a sh*t show. Because it wasn't really used all winter the last 1/2 mile near the summit is a straight cliff, no packed trail at all. Countless postholes on Crawford and Edmands. Overall though it was an incredible hike, I was all alone all the way up Pierce and Eisenhower until there I saw 2 other guys. No snow above treeline, heavy winds but a steady 45-50 degrees. I barebooted all the way to Eisenhower (I postholed ONCE everyone so don't blame those others on me) but needed snowshoes on my descent of Edmands. I can't stress enough the danger of Edmands leading up to treeline guys, it was brutal and I slipped and fell maybe 15-20 times and if you know the trail, it's a steep drop down so be careful. Great day though and I'm happy I took the day off for it! |
