Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: One major crossing had high water but managed to rock hop across without issue.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: In need of clean up and additional markings. Several blowdowns (duct under/step over). Branches of all sizes everywhere. Blowdowns and leaves on trail down low made trail difficult to follow in some spots and lack of consistent marking up top were also difficult to follow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any but the trail head had signs for "No Trespassing with Bear Dogs." Not sure what that means but figured I would mention.
Bugs
Bugs: Saw one or two horse flies but nothing to complain about.

Comments
Comments: Trail conditions varied greatly from dry trail, to standing water to post-holing mess. Started off with dry/wet leaf-covered trail, turned to soggy and wet, minor snow patches, back to dry, then to standing water, then wet rock/ledge, then up high snow patches got larger and deeper. Conditions were same in reverse on the way down. Ledges at top were clear of snow and had great views. Big Rock Cave was an enjoyable break point. I would not have minded the post-holing at the top had we not had to backtrack (twice) to retrieve dropped items. Backtracking did manage to break a lot of the snow up for the next people to go through. Overall it was a good day that could only have been improved with snowshoes for the top section (deep snow sections started around first ledge lookout and hung around until descending cabin trail).
