| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Room for a few cars at the parking area at the end of Iron Mountain Rd. The dirt road was in overall good shape- my Subaru Forester handled it well, and pretty much any small car could as well with careful driving. |

| Comments: |
It may only be 0.8 mi from trailhead to summit, but allow for extra time, since much of the trail is eroded enough to slow you down. From the summit, which was mostly viewless, to the south cliffs, the trail was in significantly better shape and crossed a lot of nice-looking open ledge. The spur path to the old mine was steep and rough and looked to see light use.
Aside from a small patch of snow at the trailhead, the trail was snow/ice free and was wet with slick rock in the lower part, but otherwise dry. #34 on the 52 with a View down! |
