We bare booted Howker Ridge Trail. Snow is still significant on the stretch where it combines with Pine Link. The snow pack was solid but still deep in this area, it would be unpleasant if the snow gets rotten. Valley Way has the remnants of a monorail from Madison Hut down to Tent platforms. We put on traction as wet ice is unpleasant, took it off once the ice went away.
It was great day for hike, long views and barely no wind. Didn't see anyone until we came out on Osgood. Another string of great Fridays. |
