| Comments: |
The lower section of the trail nearly up to the ledges can be bare booted with only occasional detours around small icy areas. Lots of bare ground at the lower elevations. From the ledges to the summit there is extensive icy trail. Able to ascend and descend the icy areas with microspikes. But care was required to avoid slippage. Walked off trail to avoid some of the largest and steepest ice areas. No log in the fire tower. Removed microspikes to avoid damage to fire tower stairs. Many other hikers on the trail today with most wearing microspikes or stabilizers. |
