Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Prettiest parking lot in the Whites and I was so pleased to see everyone respecting the "no parking beyond this point" signs even on this busy, busy day.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None of note
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Rather terrifying widow-maker over trail near the very start of Wonalancet Range. Seems solidly jammed into place and it's easy to give it a wide berth in this open forest, but it sure caught my attention for a minute there! Everything else well within normal limits. Blazing descending Walden could use a refresh (but looked good when I glanced over my shoulder) and treadway occasionally a bit obscure on Kelley (but that was kind of refreshing, honestly!).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Very suitable for trail-savvy dogs comfortable with a bit of scrambling. Little to no water on the ridge, so be prepared to bring extra or share yours.
Bugs
Bugs: Some gnats in the parking lot and had to reapply the bug juice on Gordon, where the mosquitoes were out in force. No issues in between. Some fellow hikers did warn me of ticks around Hibbard, but I did fine with DEET, permethrin-treated clothes, and preventative on the dogs.

Comments
Comments: A little joyride in the space between Passaconaway and Chocorua today thanks to a friend's challenge: hike something with no one else on it this fine holiday weekend. Must apologize to the nice folks that I greeted at the Wonalancet Range/Short Cut junction with, "Oh, no!" Still only five other hikers seen on trail all day, which felt like a gift (even if I'll have to take another crack at it Fourth of July!). A nice mix of fun little scrambles, restricted but pretty and easy footing on this loop, which felt a bit less moosey than I'm used to for the area. As promised in the WMG, Gordon Path bails out of the woods in an awkward spot; I opted to walk back up 113A and Ferncroft Rd after redlining it to the road.
