Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The last steep section to the summit from the junction with the Kenduskeag trail was difficult for Chase (mid size dog) but he made it.
Bugs
Bugs: None (probably due to high winds) until late in the hike then a few mosquitoes and black flies. Nothing too bad

Comments
Comments: Out and back from the Stony Brook Trailhead. Because my altimeter read 4040 on the high ledges on the south side of Moriah, followed by a descent we were almost fooled to think the ledges were the summit. Coming from the south, the summit is up a very steep climb (need to use hands) at the junction of the Carter-Moriah trail and the Kenduskeag trail. Great views.
