| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Easy, rock hopable. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Once you get into the wilderness area there must be 50-80 blowdowns. Nothing impossible to get under, over or around but they will slow down your pace. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Very few pups but they'd do fine. |
| Bugs: |
Not so bad! I forgot to spray at the trailhead and never regretted it. |
| Lost and Found: |
Nothing. |

| Comments: |
I was looking for a mid distance hike and only planned on going to the junction of Smarts Brook and Sandwhich Mountain trail. It's only 6/10 of a mile to the summit so I decided to do that. There is lots of work to do on this trail. Keep in mind it's a wilderness trail so markings and improvements won't typically be kept up. Be sure to take the yellow jacket loop on your way down. It adds some distance and elevation but the brook in this area has some high walls that make for a beautiful setting! |
