| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossings were fine with good assessment. Water level was low but still went up a little bit to find more exposed rocks to hop across |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail was in great condition. Blue blazes did become scarce closer to the top but its a fairly beaten path so not the end of the world. A couple of trees to step over very manageable. Also first trail I have been on where I didn't pick up tons of trash! I had to pick up one piece so that was comforting. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
saw one dog and he was happy |
|
| Bugs: |
no bugs on the way up but ran into a few on the way down as it got mildly warmer and less windy. Had bug spray on so no bites. |

| Comments: |
good weather to hike but the summit was in the clouds so unfortunately our first hike up Garfield was viewless. We waited for almost 2hours and it only got thicker and windier. Seemed to stay like that for the day. Saw minimal ice towards the top but nothing worth worrying about. Most of the mud encountered was fairly firm only in some shadier spots was it mush but most rocks and roots were exposed enough to by pass. Some patched required more nimble maneuvering but all doable. Definitely doing this peak again especially after realizing there is a campsite right before the summit! |
