Parking/Access Road Notes: There were only about 5 or 6 cars in the Basin parking lot when we arrived.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing on the Basin-Cascades Trail was easy as well as the one on the Cascade Brook Trail just past where the bridge has been washed out.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There was a large clump of 3 big blowdowns about 0.6 mi up the Basin-Cascades Trail. My dog was able to weave under them, but I basically used them as a balance beam to hike that short section of trail. About a quarter-mile up from there, there is small pile of brush/branches and such blocking the trail, but nowhere near as big an obstacle as the aforementioned blowdowns.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: We saw several out today. My pup did great! There a couple spots on the steep boulder section of Kinsman Ridge Trail where I had to give him a little boost (he's a 65-70 lb. golden/aussie mix for others to compare to) to make it up from one boulder spot to the next, but on the decent he had no trouble at all.
Bugs
Bugs: They weren't that bad today, but they are definitely increasing in number by the day.

Comments
Comments: No snow/ice left along this route. A few muddy spots here and there were about the only we ran into on the way up. Other than that, the trails were great.
