Comments
Comments: Trail was in good shape and switch backs were well laid out. We left the truck at 6:45am and were back by 2:30pm with 1/2 hour up at the top. We were moving about 6 hours total and covered 14.68 miles including the road in both directions. A few muddy spots and slippery rocks but take your time and you'll be fine. One of the water crossings took a little patience as well but wasn't bad at all. The trail is real close to the water for a while at the beginning so it's a great time to fill up. I filled up on the way back as well as you are still at least an hour from the parking lot when the trail is near the water towards the end of your hike.

**Also Note** The tower is closed and is being worked on. Looks like they redid the decking and the old decking is there in a pile. There is a gate preventing you from going up the stairs and I wouldn't jump it since they are no railings up there and the wind can be strong and unpredictable.
