Beautiful day, trails in good shape. Gorgeous hike. Views incredible as you are climbing the ledges. The guidance to not hike Blueberry Ledge in wet conditions should be heeded. The rock scrambles which run for .4 miles from the South peak would be treacherous in slippery conditions. A trail note.... At the first rock face (the one with several bore holes in the rock) stay to your left. As you pass the large boulder on your left (just past the bore holes), to stay on the trail you take a hard left onto a narrow ledge behind the boulder. The trail is NOT straight ahead up the rock. If you overshoot the narrow ledge you'll have to back down to it (as I did) not advised. Recommend doing this hike as a loop continuing on the Rollins then Dicey's Mill trail. I saw one person descending the ledges, but most everyone else seems more cautious and ascends. The Rollins trail ridge decends mostly steadily to Dicey's Mill. There are several lookouts along the way. Highly recommend this hike. |
