All water crossings were minor rock hopping |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Basin and black angel were maintained better than expected. A few fallen trees on black angel but nothing difficult. The lower 1/3 of rainbow and wild river from rainbow to eagle link are severely overgrown with head height grass/brush blocking the trail, but it is not hard to navigate. |

Lots of flies. If you are below 3000 ft and/or near water you will have a constant mosquito or fly following you. |

| Comments: |
This was before the coming rain this week but water can become extremely scarce. Blue brook and wild river had water. Black angel had a few unmarked sources and a few marked sources were dry. Last water before carter dome on black angel was a mile before the end of the trail and was unmarked. Rainbow had no water sources until heading east on wild river for .5 miles.
Also, almost walked into a moose. 100 ft from blue brook shelter a moose crossed our path about 20 ft in front of us and fortunately wanted nothing to do with us. |
