Highly recommend the loop when hiking Mount Hale. The Hale Brook trail is pretty uninteresting, straight up to the peak, no views. It was mostly dry except where there are springs then it was walking through water. Lend a Hand is a lovely trail to descend. It goes through green mossy forest. There are several viewpoints. The descent is much more gradual than Hale Brook would have been at times it is felt like a casual walk in the woods over nice springy dirt. Very peaceful - I did not see a soul on the trail. |
