Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple step over blowdowns, and a couple walk unders that could be problematic with snowpack. Pine Link needs brushing in places.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Tucker did fine, but there are few scrambles that smaller or less agile dogs may have issues with. Rocks above tree line a very sharp and rough, especially on the trails that get lighter use.

Comments
Comments: This is a great, albeit steep, way to ascend Madison. We did a little lollipop loop up Pine and Howker, down Watson back to Pine and down. A couple sections of Pine Link, one before, and one after the Howker stretch follow a running stream bed with moss covered rocks. Very slippery.
I think they missed the forecast as it was sunny and hot the entire hike.
A nice way to skip the crowds on the Feces Way or Conga Line trails. Only saw two people on the trail, and 4 through hikers at the summit.
