Comments
Comments: Another great redlining day doing the the Royces from the Wild River side. The words of the day, spider webs and mud. Burnt Mill Brook a real gem, many cascades although a little steep for the last mile to the ridge. Royce Trail and Royce Connector a nice ridge walk with some drop to the spur for East Royce. Quick 1/2 mile steep climb to East Royce which deserves it's inclusion on the 52WAV. Another short steep to West Royce with limited views nice place for lunch, saw 10 people all day, 6 at East Royce and 2 at West Royce and then 2 more at the Blue Brook tent site. Basin Rim Trail to Rim Junction did drop quite a bit but not bad, the 2.5 miles from West Royce went by quickly.
Rim Junction, a 5-way junction of the Basin Rim, Basin Trail to Basin one way and Wild River the other, Basin rim over to Meader and Black Angel. Did the loop over to Blue Brook and connector. Would definitively camp there, 3 tent pads and enough room for a few more, great water source and also a place to relax. Basin Trail to Wild River Campground was a joy, the cliffs toward the end will make me bring others.
