Comments
Comments: To start the trip... a decent size black bear was right at the snowmobile gate which its eye level with the post. We yelled at it until it ran off and we started on the trail. Well we took a chance and went up castle trail and on our way down castle ravine-we decided the better way would have been in reverse. Oh well. We saw 0 people until we hit the junction of the jefferson loop trail just below the peak. The temp was great, started out at 47, and never got too cold by the peak. The Castles were great and looking into the ravine was sweet. New trails for both of us and checked off 24/25 terrifying 25 trails. We saw a lot of people heading up to jefferson on our way down and saw a couple of thru-hikers too. We took the left to head to castle ravine and went back to 0 people and 1 million spider webs haha. The begining of the ravine trail on the way down-is a talus field for daysssss. Then river crossings constantly with which we would have loved to take a dip as so many pooling areas were around there, but we had a time crunch. Great trails though! Another good day out!
