Cold and clear start from the York Pond Trailhead. Brian caught up with us on Bunnell Notch Trail. Met up with Lucky Laura who had broken out trail all the way to summit. Think we found her goggles. Bunnell Notch Trail unconsolidated dry fluffy snow with some holes on ascent..now a nice if soft snowshoe track. Prior traffic on Kilkenny Ridge left more of a packed trail bed under the fresher loose snow and was easier going. Winter wonderland coming up to the cabin..Gorgeous day. Trail meanders a bit from the cabin to the summits but finds its way there. Both signs in place. No recent activity towards Unknown Pond. Near zero on summit with light winds...we had a quick fun descent in the beautiful snow...glorious day out with Val, Sabrina, Brian and Terra |
