Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Brunel Trail is in need of brushing and blazing. There are a couple of larger blow downs that have been there for a while and are an easy over or around. The Mount Tremont Trail has one smallblow down about a quarter mile up from the last water crossing (going up) and a couple larger ones one higher on the switch backs and one lower down. Again, easy over or around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A trail report from may said they didn't think the climb up Tremont on the Brunel would be good for dogs but after hiking it I think my dog could have handled it.

Comments
Comments: After scouring the net for reports on this hike I was a little apprehensive. Many said the Brunel Trail was difficult to follow and that they got off trail because of it. We had no issues following the trail and only questioned where to go once in the sag between Owl's Cliff and Tremont. Most of the trail the blazes were visible and an obvious path could be found. Fresh blazing and brushing are definitely needed. Awesome hike!
