Comments: As one can see from the conditions listed, plenty of variables..morning found most of the trail snow covered, but traction not needed until climbing towards the Garfield Ridge Trail, and from then on up to the hut and Galehead summit..lots of frozen snow (just a couple inches) and ice up high, with mud pits and rocks mixed in..a day to dull the spikes..down low in the PM the leaves were drying out nicely..looked like the hut will be having some hikers this last weekend to be open...
