| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The lot wasn't plowed and could be problematic for some. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Spring Snow, Slush |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossings were manageable by stepping on rocks. There is standing slushy and muddy water near bog bridges that is also doable but one section requires one big step/jump. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
one small duck under and we cleared a few tree tops that were broken/blown off trees and stuck in the trail. |

| Comments: |
Started off in 4-5 inches of wet snow and light rain following 2 sets of footprints. I wore traction and after the snow got deeper I switched to snowshoes near the sloping rock slab. The snowshoes helped with flotation but the occasional rock and root added to the challenge. Snow was turning into slush and on the way out I switched back to traction and it was just as tedious but safer - a few steps and then I would slide. The only thing that would have made today easier is if I would have stayed home and watched Netflix. Thanks to Billy Freitas for keeping me company so I could get this peak on a day with less than favorable conditions. |
