Comments
Comments: This was a lovely stroll in the woods, with beautiful cascades, beaver meadows, and ponds the entire way. Very muddy due to recent rains, could have used a few more rocks! There was running water in the Mt. Kineo Trail just after it diverges to the right from the snowmobile trail, then it completely disappeared under rushing water. We bushwacked up on the banking and got around it, then climbed up to the snowmobile trail and continued. The photo below shows where the trail ends in the water just below the bridge where Mt. Kineo Trail heads towards Hubbard Brook Rd. This section of the trail can be avoided by going up or down the snowmobile trail. The Three Ponds Trail has very nice footing much of the way, as it is mostly a snowmobile trail. There are not many blazes but if you stay on the snowmobile trail you will be fine. Lots of little bridges over small drainages courtesy of the snowmobilers! Photos are in Dropbox and you don't have to be a dropbox user to see them.
