Comments
Comments: Decided on Hale today, given a late start due to the Patriots night game and concern about mixed precipitation. The trail was snow and ice free, with some soggy sections, until about 2200 feet, where traces of snow in the woods started. Ice and snow started on the trail around 2600 feet. Put on Microspikes for the upper crossing, which was at around 2800 feet. Kept them on all the way to the summit and down a bit past the upper crossing. My old beater spikes worked fine in the today's conditions, but sharper spikes will be needed when all the water currently running down the trail freezes over. Met 5 very nice people on the trail today.
