Comments
Comments: We did a 9.2 mile traverse from Watatic to Windblown XC Ski. Climbing Mount Watatic took some care due to heavy leaf cover and slippery rocks thanks to all the rain. Lots of standing water and mud on the trail throughout the hike because the ground was so saturated. But the skies were bright blue, temperatures just right for hiking, and even with the damp ground we kept a pace of 2+ MPH. Once you get up on the ridge between Pratt and Barrett, the views are great. Especially the view of Binney Pond and the several vistas toward Monadnock. No ice or snow on these smaller mountains, which is exactly why we chose them. Not feeling those winter conditions quite yet!
