Lost and Found
Lost and Found: my hiking buddy lost one of his spikes up on the ridge between the 2 summits; we found it again on the return trip :)

Comments
Comments: we were the first to ascend via the Mt Kinsman trail; a few people came after; no need for snowshoes; not much snow on that side; plenty of snow on the ridge; 9 people were in front of us, all having come via Lonesome Lake; no one carried snowshoes; they were not yet needed; most people wearing spikes; no one had hiked to the South Kinsman summit; everybody had turned around just after coming out of the woods; so I got to 'break trail' for that last bit to the throne of South Kinsman; gorgeous views from South Kinsman (the clouds had finally lifted when we got there; when we first reached the ridge, Cannon was still in the clouds; by now it was out of the clouds); great first winter hike (with those temperatures)--while it was windy, the wind mostly stayed above us; the 'windiest spot' was on the Mt Kinsman trail on the final ascend to the juncture; both on ascend and descend it was about 0.1mi of wind; besides that no wind to speak off; on the return trip stopped by Kinsman vista point for lunch break, and the sun was shining :)
