Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Road up to Hale is a literal ice rink. If you don’t have amazing tires or 4Wd. Not a good idea. We ended up a bit in a ditch going around the corner past the first bridge so we got the car turned around and walked in. Even the truck we gladly hitched out with slipped a bit on that hill.... BE CAREFUL!

Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Breakable Crust, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Recommended Equipment: Light Traction 
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock hopping two places, jumping over small streams and going through trickle streams I. The middle of trail. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Few avoidable/hoppable blowdowns early in Trail, 2 you have to cross and one you can sneak around.

Dog-Related Notes: Loads of happy puppies on trail and off leash.

Comments: Easily traversable with spikes, cold but not uncomfortable except on top near cairn. Wonderful views through trees at the top of mount Washington totally covered in fresh snow. :) it’s winter in the whites everyone!
