Comments
Comments: Nice way to hike Gunstock, saw only 3 people on the way up to the summit and had the summit to ourselves. When you make the sharp left on the Overlook Trail (shortly after leaving the Round Pond Trail), you'll almost immediately hook back to the right, descend to the brook and cross. There are no blazes on the tree where you turn right but there is a sign. We were looking for blazes and walked right by the sign, but figured out we were going the wrong way pretty quickly. Lots of biking/cross country trails in this area so need to pay attention! Put on our microspikes just below the junction with the Blue Trail/Saddle Trail, as the snow was crunchy and slippery on the leaves. Some ice heading up the Brook trail to the Gunstock summit, also a little ice on the Belknap Range trail going over toward the ridge. We took off the spikes as we approached the ridge, just a little ice on the service road going down that was easily avoided. Great day to be out on the trails!
