| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The Carriage Rd. gate was open, but with the incoming winter weather, it might not be open for much longer. About halfway up the road, there was a downed tree across it, which the gentleman doing maintenance and I moved out of the way (the tree was on the smaller side, but it was big enough that no one would've been able to get by). Parts of the road also had some patches of ice. Drive carefully. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The trails on and around Belknap Mountain are some of the best built and maintained I've seen anywhere. In fact, I crossed paths with a gentleman doing end-of-season maintenance on the White Trail. Hats off to him and all the maintainers/adopters! |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Parts of the Red Trail, and most of the Green (Warden's) Trail, had some gnarly ice flows that might be a challenge for dogs. |

| Comments: |
There was a scattered dusting of snow at the beginning of the Green Trail, but not long after that, most of the trail was covered in ice flows and frozen granular snow. I put light traction on about halfway up and kept it on for the rest of the hike. The summit of Belknap Mountain was almost completely covered in snow. The Red Trail was snowy and icy, but not to the degree the Green Trail was. Great views from the top deck of the fire tower, but it was far too cold and windy to stay up there for a while. |
