| Water Crossing Notes: |
First one was somewhat of a pain. Partially bridged but unstable with lots of running water where it wasn’t bridged. Could either take a giant leap or shimmy on downed trees. Second one was not bridged but an easy jump. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some blowdowns on AZ between Avalon and Mt Tom Spur. 2 of them, taking up the whole trail. |

Katahdin came along and did well (German Shepherd, he tolerates the coldest of cold days). |

| Comments: |
Avalon was packed out until the AZ junction. The track continued up AZ for a mile or so before they stopped. 3 of us broke out Avalon to Field, then Field to Tom. We made the unanimous decision on Field to skip Willley, it was just too cold and windy for all of us. Snowshoes were the right choice though we still hit some rocks here and there. Oh, and we all really enjoyed the new reroute on AZ, well done!! |
