Put on snowshoes from the start. OBP had been post holed the day before when things were soft. Some areas were a little challenging with snowshoes as the trail was still a little bone-y in places. One post holer had been across the ridge the day before. On the ridge, met a lone snowshoer heading the opposite way. Then met a post holer repeatedly going in over his knees in his sweatpants, 3 season boots & no gaiters. Hopefully he survived. Met 3 more post holers heading up FW at 2pm who planned to do the loop which we advised against due to the late hour and their lack of sufficient equipment. No matter what they decided to do, they probably caused some damage to our snowshoe track. |
