Water Crossing Notes: Everything was easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few large blowdowns ascending Hurricane Mountain in the dark but everything was an easy step over or walk around. One significant blowdown across Carriage Road between Snapper and Hurricane had a little cutting done fairly recently to create a gap to squeeze through but eventually some more work clearing this will be ideal as it is a very narrow section of trail and the tree blocks it significantly, especially if skiing. Great blazing on Hurricane trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: One happy dog starting his day up the Carriage road as we finished. Great dog hike for a well seasoned winter pup.

Comments
Comments: Barebooted first .3 miles like everyone else had from Glencliff Lot. Put snowshoes on at Hurricane Trail and they stayed on 9 miles until we hit the other car. We broke trail all day except for the .6 Gorge Brook section and the last .5 miles of Carriage Road. Awesome powder conditions most of the day with only a little slushly wet snow near the end down low on Carriage road. Snow was deep enough all day that we seldom hit rocks, etc. A fine day redlining, telvating and burning fossil fuels with DJ. Special thanks to Barber, Brownie and the boys for the heady jams in the cold pre-dawn darkness. Special opposite of thanks to the 100 year old hunter sitting in the middle of carriage road by Breezy Point with his gun. C'mon man you are 100 feet from the parking area in the middle of the trail...just die of natural causes already before you shoot somebody
