Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |

First stream felt sketchy, water running high and fast, but easy to cross. Had to rock hop. |

Lots of blowdown, had to go just off trail to pass. |

No dogs seen :(. |

| Comments: |
Lots of snow up high. Didn’t bring snowshoes and was post holing in some spots up to knees and thighs. Scrambley sections up high tough with lots of powder snow. Tough to get good footing. Summit traverse and down to Madison hut was packed down. Down valley way to Appalachia a lot of fun. Hard pack and lots is glissading. |
