Fun hike today with our friend Alexej. Did an out-and-back from Gale River Trail. The trail had been broken to the hut from Saturday’s hikers. Snowshoes were needed as the trail was broken but not packed. Close to the hut, we were passed by two guys and a very cute and friendly dog. We were grateful for them as when we reached the hut, we saw that neither the trail to Galehead nor to the trail to South Twin had been broken out. The guys were machines and zoomed up ahead of us. We were mighty appreciative. We followed in snowshoes and would have been happy to help them break trail, but they were so damn fast and out of sight ahead of us before you could blink - again, we were mighty appreciative. So now six sets of snowshoes have been on the trails to Galehead, South Twin, and North Twin.
Note - we saw no tracks on North Twin Trail, so anyone wanting to come up that way has some trail breaking to do. |
