Trail from Champney Falls trailhead to the falls is well packed. From falls to summit it was posthole hell. 4 guys staying at Jim Liberty shelter(?) went up Friday night and then I ran into them on their way down today without snowshoes killing the trail. I had snowshoes and managed to flatten out the trail, plus saw some people skinning up, so the trail should be in decent shape depending on how much snow they got tonight. Top section required either decent snowshoes with aggressive traction or light traction/crampons as the rock was really slippery in the last .4 mile. |
