Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 2 large blowdowns on Main tr, a ways past the Brook Trail turn off. A lot of weight there that could easily roll the wrong way if not chainsawed with a good plan. Both have easy walk around, good for now.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Should be okay if your dog is experienced in snow. One ledgy area on main trail is a bit sketchy; a short section.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: There's a grey baseball cap hanging over the Main Tr on a tree, just before Brook Tr turnoff.

Comments
Comments: This particular area did NOT get clobbered with snow fall as much as other areas. I couldn't use snowshoes until I got about a half mile in, and there were spots where the little boulders sticking up made snowshoeing tricky. It's actually fairly well boot packed; uneven width and sloppy, but not postholey (not deep enough). You'll need traction in places near the top. I was told the Boulder Tr might require crampons, maybe aggressive short snowshoes okay. Where it's not broke out, you can get into the crusty-breakthru syndrome, but everywhere I went was broke out. I went a little ways down the Straightback trail (BRT off the Brook Tr), as far as I could see it was broken out. The red blazed trail coming off the top (Jesus Valley i think?) isn't broken out.
If you need snowshoes like I did, I found MSR Evo Ascent snowshoes AND tails yesterday in Intervale on Rt 16 at Ragged Factory Outlet. IME in Conway had MSR snowshoes as well, saw that afterwards. (Thanks Zachary for your help, these little snowshoes work great; they totally rock!)
