Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No problems but the deep existential pain of touching a rock with my snowshoe crampon
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of blowdowns, all but one readily crossed or bypassed. That one is a 12” log, just a little too high to easily step over and a little too low to shimmy under. I scrambled over it a bit up the hill, which worked okay once I got my feet untangled from the underbrush there.

Bugs: Weird flying creeps near the open water down low

Comments
Comments: So close I could taste it! Needed to redline Wentworth to the junction with Mead. Followed one set of tracks up to the view north, then broke trail along what I’m confident was the right corridor along the ridge to an open area and could not for the life of me find the next stretch. So I guess i’ll Be revisiting that 0.1mi in future. Still a nice half-day out! The folks coming up behind me were confident that they would be able to solve for X.

Minimal crusted snow in the first half-mile but considerably deeper approaching and on the ridge. Quite soft and heavy in many aeeowith good sun exposure. Needs more snowshoe traffic to qualify as packed-out.
