Nice loop hike via "Hiking trail" up to Blue Job (clockwise), down and out to Little Blue Job (far superior views), and back to my car via loop fashion. I left snowshoes in my car, and microspikes in my bag. I got away with bare boot and most other people too, I maybe could have used microspikes (Stablicers really) in a few spots but not necessary. It was nice to have the sun out. This peak was my #8 for Fire Tower Quest even though I just got my patch with #7. I highly recommend taking a longer hike out to Little Blue Job where there are 360 degree views and better than on the fire tower on Blue Job. Blue Job was cool in the sense that hiking clockwise, you hike through the sunny open and warm side and on the northern side is dark dank and cool with hemlocks and pines. More snow on the ground and trees on that side. |
