Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We parked in the turn around at the end of the road. Note that the trench descends to the first cabin's porch and then seems to disappear. That because the trench runs along the East side of the cabin under the eaves then goes down the road to the access road in front of the lodge.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The last 1/4 mile is a wonderland of bendovers. Ron and I removed all that blocked the trail with 2 exceptions : near the treeline we cut a bendover blocking the trail but could not get the frozen branches out of the snow - it is left as a walk-around. The other exception was a tree from each side of the trail frozen together in the middle of the trail. The best we could do was create a keyhole to squeeze through. We also cut many others but there are still plenty left for your Winter Hiking enjoyment.

Comments
Comments: Thank you, Ron K.

Bitter cold above treeline as always. "Blustery" winds did not knock us off our feet but occasionally brought us to a stand-still. So glad I was not trying Franconia Ridge for example.
